Anthuriums have always been a favorite pattern amongst quilters but don’t be fooled by it’s looks many people have problems with circular designs. Remember one stitch at a time. Tuck and Sew Tuck and Sew to needle turn those rounded edges. 45″ x 45″ Designed by John Serrao/js664-bk8
I’m forever blowing bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
They fly so high, nearly reach the sky
Then like my dreams they fade and die
Fortune’s always hiding
I’ve looked everywhere
I’m forever blowing bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
In 2007 while at our quilting class at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center John was thinking back to the Old Stadium which was located on King Street and the Shriner’s Football Game. One of the songs that was sung by the crowds was the Dean Martin song I’m forever blowing bubbles. So while singing and reminiscing of the old days he designed this quilt of the island flowers in their own bubbles. The Anthurium, Plumeria, Hibiscus, Pua Kenikeni, Orchids and Carnations. 108″ x 108″ King Size Pattern. Designed by John Serrao (Personal Design)
Single Color or Muti-Color? This quilt is definitely for the I LOVE APPLIQUE crowd.
Anthurium’s a favorite flower for many because of its distinctive heart shaped leaves. After doing the graphics for this quilt I must say it’s going to be one of my favorites. Pattern: 22″x22″ Design by John Serrao
Not John’s usual motif but I was looking for a pattern for the St. Valentines Day Holiday. I actually have 3 more to post which he designed. I like this one but its not what I like but what you like as the quilter.
