Natsumikan – Yamaguchi Prefecture
It has been a long, hot and humid summer. Counting down the days until we leave for Yokohama. I’m hoping it will be much cooler there than here in the islands. 92 degrees at 7PM but seeing friends and family in October will be a welcomed journey. To our friends in the Yamaguchi Prefecture here is your designated flower… the blossom of the Natsumikan. (Mandarin Blossom). John made this design using the quarter fold versus the an eighth fold.
Mountain Peony – Shimane Prefecture
Yes, we’re going to Yokohama, Japan on October 11 for an amazing quilt exhibit from October 14-19. 21 Certified Poakalani Hawaiian Quilt Instructors will be showcasing their quilts in this Hawaiian Quilt ONLY quilt exhibit. All the quilts are designed by John and of course some from Tutu Correa. We’re excited and to show our appreciating John has designed 47 – 45″ x 45″ Floral Hawaiian quilt designs for the 47 Japan prefectures.
