Great Job Linda….. First for completing an amazing quilt and second for using the color black.  You brave soul.

The Poinciana tree is found through-out the islands.  They brighten the roadways and parks with their bright multi-colored blossoms.

circleuluI know I just hate it when I have to be the bearer of bad news.  No class this week June 13 in honor of Kamehameha Day. We’ll see everyone back at class on June 20.  In the meantime congratulations to another quilter who cut out her new 45″ x 45 ulu wall hanging.  It’s going to be beautiful when it’s done.

I”m just calling this the happy quilt because when I look at it I can’t help but smile.  Mie was able to use all the leftover scrap fabric from previous quilts.  45″ x 45″   Designed by John Serrao.

The fabric was so gorgeous that we just couldn’t waste it.  So John added a lei to the Lei Kukui Nut Design from his “Mai Kalani Mai” Series of Patterns.  Don’t be afraid to enhance your commercial design to make it yours.  Thank you Rula for letting me share you amazing quilt.

Building Renovation Kanaina Building – Update May, 2017

February 19, 2017February 19, 2017
Aloha Everyone, We were all  aware that the Kanaina Building was scheduled for renovations a year ago.  We are now getting closer to the renovation date so we will be on a week to week notice for the quilting classes.  Please keep checking weekly for an updated status.  We will be at the Iolani Palace  through the month of June but haven't gotten any update for the month of July.  We have found a temporary home at the Bishop Museum when the renovations begin and will let you know when the time gets closer.. Thank you for your patience.   Cissy
