Susie & John

Susie Sugi a dear friend and a strong supporter of everything Hawaiian especially Hawaiian quilting stopped by the Hawaiian quilting class while visiting from Japan. She lived in Hawaii for 12 years before returning to Japan and during those twelve years she established her self as not only  a quilter but also a Master Hawaiian Quilter and Instructor.  Her return to Japan has left a small void in our classes and in the Hawaiian quilting world. We miss her and always happy when she’s in the islands.  Pictured is her next quilting project.  One of My Tutu’s vintage quilts.  Kanani O Amelika – The Beauty of America.  Can you find the Eagles and Daisies depicted in the quilt.

Building Renovation Kanaina Building – Update May, 2017

February 19, 2017February 19, 2017
Aloha Everyone, We were all  aware that the Kanaina Building was scheduled for renovations a year ago.  We are now getting closer to the renovation date so we will be on a week to week notice for the quilting classes.  Please keep checking weekly for an updated status.  We will be at the Iolani Palace  through the month of December but haven't gotten any update for the month of January or February.  We have found a temporary home at the Bishop Museum when the renovations begin and will let you know when the time gets closer.. Thank you for your patience.   Cissy
